We Are The Centre Of Applied Science In Ontario Protected Areas (CASIOPA)

We provide state of the science workshops and networking for all those interested in protected areas, with an emphasis for solutions based on social, natural, and physical science for best practices in all types of protected areas.

2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The conference will be held on November 20, 2024, 0900-1530
Federation Hall, West Ring Road, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON

This is a hybrid meeting (in person attendance and online participation)
For those in person, a morning break and lunch will be provided, free of charge

Our conference theme is “Working Towards Biodiversity and Conservation Targets in Ontario Protected Areas”.

Whether you are an experienced professional or early-career professional or student, we encourage your participation. This annual  conference is attended by researchers and practitioners in professions related to conservation in parks and protected areas.

Please note the order of speakers and their titles is subject to change over the next few weeks.  We also are finalizing the lightning and shorter-form talks after the final keynote. Typically, about half of our speakers join us remotely. If we have a few more contributed talks for the 1345 session, we will extend the meeting to 1530.
